Field Sales Representative
Implementation Consultant
Field Sales Representative - Two Positions Available
Data Innovations LLC, the world’s largest and most successful clinical and blood laboratory Middleware Company is currently seeking a Field Sales Representative. This position’s primary responsibilities are to maintain key account relationships as well as develop new relationships by positioning Data Innovations as the leader in laboratory middleware solutions by demonstrating the value of our products within laboratory environments and workflows.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain relationships and customer loyalty with customers and business partners in the medical community
- Generate revenues from existing accounts as well as identify new business opportunities
- Identify laboratory solutions for existing and new customers with the purpose of generating sales and delivering customer satisfaction
- Perform sales presentations of the company’s products and solutions to customers
- Maintain strong professional relationships with strategic customers and business partners through regular meetings and interactions, which includes frequent on-site field visits
- Develop sales plans and market assessments, including identifying potential customers, up-sell opportunities prospective contacts and Business Partner Development
- Drive targeted revenue goals with the closure of sales
- Successfully negotiate contract terms and conditions
- Prepare and accurately process sales orders
- Work collaboratively with other members on the sales team and other departments to ensure customer needs are met
- Provide regular updates to Management on all aspects of sales
- Actively participate in tradeshows, workshops and educational events
- Provide feedback to the research and development and management team regarding customer needs and desired product enhancements
- Maintain internal tracking systems for services and customer follow-up
- Develop and maintain an expert level knowledge of the use and functionality Instrument Manager™ software, its associated modules and the laboratory industry
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to learn and comprehend medical and scientific information
- Ability to learn new products and incorporate into existing offerings
- Proven track record of maintaining customer satisfaction and sales accomplishments
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long-term business relationships
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Persuasive Communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to successfully manage many complex prospective customers/Business Partners simultaneously
- Strong networking and executive selling skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to follow DI’s policies, procedures and system usage practices
- Satisfy travel requirements (minimum 50% of travel required)
- Meet location requirements based in South Burlington, Vermont for training (approximately for first 3-6 months, and as necessary)
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree, and at least 3-6 years outside sales experience with a laboratory middleware, instrumentation, or information system vendor
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Except for first 3-6 months, while performing duties of this job, the employee is predominately working at customer locations, with the remainder of the time working from a home-based office.
Preferred skills and experience:
In addition to the above requirements, the ideal employee/candidate will have experience with the following:
- Medical/Healthcare Background including knowledge of medical/clinical laboratory workflow operations
- Licensed Medical Technologist
- Experience with Regulatory Compliance (e.g. FDA, HIPAA, ISO)

Implementation Consultant
Data Innovations LLC, the world’s largest and most successful clinical and blood laboratory Middleware Company is currently seeking an Implementation Consultant, whose main focus is to optimize a customer’s clinical laboratory goals. This position’s primary responsibilities are to provide consulting services to customers and facilitate the implementation, training and the use of the Data Innovations products.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Consult with customers and business partners in utilizing the company’s products to optimize laboratory workflow
- Design laboratory solutions for customers and business partners
- Perform demonstrations/presentations of the company’s products and solutions to customers
- Maintain strong professional relationships with strategic customers, business partners and industry colleagues through regular meetings and interactions
- Develop consulting tools and service offerings
- Work collaboratively with other departments within the company to ensure company’s operational readiness for new releases
- Actively participate in tradeshows, workshops and educational events
- Serve as a technical resource to other departments within the company regarding Data Innovations’ products and solutions
- Negotiate and document comprehensive Purchased Service Agreements for consulting engagements
- Maintain internal tracking systems for services and customer follow-up
- Develop and maintain an expert level knowledge of the use and functionality Instrument Manager™ software, its associated modules and the laboratory industry
- Provide customers and Business Partners with appropriate training and education on the company’s product solutions
- Serve as back-up to the Customer Services team in installation to the company’s products
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- At least 3 years experience as a licensed Medical Technologist (ASCP, NCA, or equivalent)
- Advanced knowledge of the integration of laboratory information systems, analytical instrumentation and automation systems
- Ability to successfully negotiate contract terms and conditions
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Strong Communication skills (verbal and written) including presentation skills
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to follow DI’s policies and procedures and system usage practices
- Satisfy travel requirements (Minimum 50% of travel required)
Education and/or Experience
Completion of an Accredited Program in Medical Laboratory Technology and at least 5 years experience working as a licensed Medical Technologist
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
While performing duties of this job, the employee is predominately functioning in a sedentary light office position with high frequency of keyboarding, and computer use. This position may also have high travel requirements to customer sites; must be able to tolerate conditions associated with traveling and working in a laboratory setting.

- Previous experience using Data Innovations’ products/services
- Previous Sales/Consulting Experience
- Previous working experience with customer support-software
- Experience conducting adult education training courses
